The former legal advisor to Arturo Zaldívar, Juan Pedro Alcudia, is starting a discreet campaign to join the Judicial Discipline Tribunal. While criticism over Zaldívar's lack of technical experience has increased following the TelevisaLeaks scandal, Layda Sansores, the governor of Campeche, came to his defense.
In an attempt to divert attention from the scandal, Sansores accused Carmen Aristegui of orchestrating an attack against Zaldívar at a crucial time, when the issue of the judicial coup is on everyone's lips. Despite the criticisms, Claudia Sheinbaum publicly supported Zaldívar.
Adrián Rubalcava, recently appointed as director of the Mexico City Metro, has generated controversy due to his political background rather than having technical skills related to mobility. Nevertheless, Layda Sansores has urged giving Rubalcava a chance to prove his worth in the position.
"It is important not to judge people by their past, but to give them the opportunity to show their potential in the present," expressed Sansores. Rubalcava, for his part, defends himself by stating that people should be evaluated at different stages of their lives.
